IGP-DURA®xal – coating system with rich material character
“Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light.” - Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier developed his “Polychromie Architecturale” color theory on the basis of long-standing experience. It was conceived for modern architecture and offers a standardized and harmonious color system of 63 shades.
The fine microstructure of IGP-DURA®xal creates a matt, velvety appearance. With its excellent profile-compliant spread and extraordinary colour depth, IGP-DURA®xal is predestined to represent Le Corbusier’s “Polychromie Architecturale” in a unique fashion while remaining true to his original vision. The Le Corbusier colors are available in two product series: IGP-DURA®xal 4201 for highly weather-resistant applications on façades, and IGP-DURA®xal 4601 for a weather-resistant exterior finish for both indoor and outdoor components.
“Color is as powerful an architectural tool as the plan and section. To put it another way: Polychromy is a part of the plan and section.” - Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier (born: Charles-Édouard Jeanneret) is considered the most influential architect of modern times. He was instrumental in shaping our perception of modern architecture and modern-day living in general.
However, his works are not only found in architecture. Le Corbusier also created impressive works of art, including paintings, sculptures, collages and items of furniture.
Les Couleurs Suisse AG only grants the right to use the “Polychromie Architecturale” to selected companies from different industries in the fields of architecture and design. IGP Powder Coatings is one of them.
