Scratch resistance

IGP powder coatings with increased scratch resistance improve the visual appearance of surfaces and protect workpieces against wear and tear as well as weathering. The innovative powder coating concept makes these products more robust against parallel-linear exertions of force across the entire coating depth. Scratch-resistant powder coatings improve the scratch-resistant properties of items when it comes to handling as well as in use.

Increasing scratch resistance results in valuable advantages in terms of further processing and utilisation:

  • Greater reliability during storage, packing and transport.
  • Improved scratch resistance during further assembly.
  • Improved abrasion resistance against loads created during basic and upkeep cleaning.
  • Permanent suitability for use and lower surface abrasion.

Note: With immediate effect, in addition to IGP-DURA®face 5807 and 3902, highly weather-resistant items in the product group 5903 and 5907 are also available with increased scratch resistance. These items can be recognised by the letter “S” in the eleventh position of the IGP article code.
